Welcome.

Wake up Ugandan Children's Foundation is a youth led community based non-governmental organization (NGO) established by a young man in 2012. After realizing that many children living in Kigungu were not attending school, becoming victims of domestic violence and forced child labor he wanted to create something to support his village. More so, girls are joining marriage institution at a very young age without completing education. The children who are faced with the most challenges are those who lost their parents, or those living with their relatives in extended families. Furthermore, Kigungu being a fishing village is characterized by a high level of illiteracy and school dropouts, a high spread of HIV/AIDS. Moreover, there are high levels of polygamous and early marriages, family conflict, women abuse and many other issues. These issues create a need for urgent action in rescuing, caring, supporting and rehabilitating the affected children, families and community at large.

Wake up Ugandan Children's Foundation (WUCF) engages in activities which are in accordance with our aims and objectives upholding our mission and working towards our vision. WUCF aims to help children in need who either lost their parents or live under extremely poor conditions, by sending them to school and giving them life support. Also, WUCF seeks to educate the community at large of the importance of providing education to girls. It condemns child abuse and domestic violence and offers life skills in areas where our children register challenges.
